Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid
The Heartsaver First Aid Course is an approximately 7 1/2 hour course. It can also be taught without Infant CPR in about 6 1/2 hours. This class is intended for those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements such as child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children's sports organizations. It teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics include First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies and Evironmental Emergencies. Optional topics include First Aid Topics and CPR and AED, A pocket mask is given to each particpant to use during the class and to keep.
